Safety on Oray trips
What Oray checks before a driver takes your booking, what you have during the trip, and what to do if something goes wrong.
Before the trip: driver documents
Drivers register through the Oray driver app and upload their papers there: their driving licence, the vehicle's registration certificate (RC book) and the vehicle's insurance.
The Oray team reviews each uploaded document and approves or rejects it. Each document carries its expiry date, and the team tracks documents that are about to expire or have expired, so a driver is asked to upload a fresh one.
During a cab trip: four things in the Oray app
- Trip PIN. The app shows you a PIN for the trip. You give it to your driver to start the trip, so the right passenger is in the right car.
- The car's number plate. The trip screen shows the plate in large type, so you can match it to the car that arrives.
- Share live trip. You can send a link, through any app on your phone, that lets a family member or friend follow your ride live.
- SOS. The SOS button asks you to confirm, so it is never sent by an accidental tap. When you confirm, it alerts the Oray safety team with your live location, and the app tells you plainly whether the alert went through. If you are in danger, call 112 first.
- Off-route check. If the app notices that your ride has been off its usual route for a while, it asks whether everything is fine and lets you call your driver, send an SOS or say you are OK.
These are in the Oray app. Get it on Google Play or the App Store.

Before you book

- Match the number plate shown in the app to the car that arrives.
What we do not claim
Oray connects you with drivers and bus operators who are responsible for running their trips. This page describes what Oray reviews and the tools it provides; it is not a guarantee that nothing can go wrong. The terms of use set out the responsibilities of each party.
